Accent walls-

There are several types of wood accent walls to consider, each offering distinct aesthetics and requiring varying levels of installation expertise:

Reclaimed Wood This rustic option uses salvaged wood from barns, fences, or other structures. The natural imperfections and weathered character add warmth and a sense of history to a space.  Reclaimed wood planks come in a variety of thicknesses and can be quite heavy. Uneven surfaces and warping can occur if not properly installed.

Shiplap - These interlocking planks create a dimensional, farmhouse-inspired look. They're typically made from pine or MDF and come pre-finished or ready to paint. Shiplap is generally lightweight and easier to handle than reclaimed wood. However, improper installation can lead to uneven gaps between planks and a cheapened look.

Wood Slats - Thin slats arranged horizontally or vertically add a touch of modern sophistication. They can be made from various woods like oak or walnut and stained or painted to match your décor.  Improper spacing and alignment of the slats can be quite noticeable and detract from the clean lines of this style.

If you're considering a wood accent wall,  be aware of these potential problems that can arise with unskilled installation:

Uneven Surfaces -  Improper prep work or using warped wood can result in a bumpy, uneven wall. This is especially noticeable with larger, reclaimed wood planks.

Gaps and Inconsistency -   Inaccurate measurements or  improper application of  adhesive can lead to visible gaps between planks and an inconsistent overall appearance.

Damage to Walls - Heavy wood panels require secure anchoring to prevent future sagging or damage to your drywall.  A skilled professional will ensure proper installation techniques to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on your walls.

We offer a wide range of products and services to meet any design need you can dream up. When it comes to accent walls, we do it best!
